A – Z About ME

I was tagged by the lovely Jenny from Mummy Mishaps to do this A – Z About Me meme.  I thought it would be a bit daunting – but I actually enjoyed it 🙂

ANORAK…Do you have a sad side

I do.  I don’t really mind a bit of dust here or there, but what I cannot bear is things being in the wrong place.  For example, an ‘ornament’ or photo frame not facing the correct way, or if it’s at a wrong angle!  Also, and I have revealed this before – any photos in photo albums *have* to be in chronological order

BODY…What physical attribute would you most like to change?

There are many things about my body that I’m not happy with.  MANY.  But what I’d love to change is my arms.  I want lovely, toned arms.  No matter how much I exercise (which I haven’t done in a little while), my arms just don’t change 😦

CELEBRITY…Which one would you most like to date and why?

Ooooh… George Clooney.  Or Matt Bomer.  Or Paul Walker.  Why?  Simple reason – they’re just *so* hot!

DEBUT …Tell us about your first ever blog post. What made you start blogging?

I only started blogging in June.  It was an idea I had been toying with for a few weeks before I started.  I had become more active on Twitter and I discovered a handful of parenting blogs.  I could identify with a lot of what I read and wanted to share my own experiences.  I didn’t think other people would actually read my posts!

My first post was about how much weight I gained during my pregnancy, how much I enjoyed eating and how hard it was to lose the weight!  I think I chose to write about that particular subject because I had just (when V was 7 months) started watching what I ate and started exercising.

ERROR …What’s been your biggest regret?

This is a tough one.  I’ve done a lot of stupid things that I regret.  Some more dumb than others.  Let’s just say I’ve learnt from my mistakes!

FUNNY – who’s making you laugh?

At this very moment (for the last couple of weeks), my sister 🙂  She’s here visiting from London and we’ve spent a lot of time together, just giggling!

GRAND…If we gave you one right now what would you spend it on?

Hmmm…  A holiday?  New clothes?  Actually, I’d probably spend it all on a handbag…  Or maybe a camera?

HOLIDAY… What’s your favourite destination?

Definitely Bali!  It’s a beautiful place.  It’s relaxing, but at the same time there’s so much to see and do.  The hospitality is fabulous and there’s no shortage good restaurants or bars.

IRRITATE… What’s your most annoying habit?

Nail biting, I think.  Although, Hub would say it’s not picking up the bath mat or closing the shower curtain after I’ve showered!

JOKER…Whats your favourite joke {the one that makes you laugh everytime you hear it}?

My brother told us this joke when he was about 8 (I was 14).  It’s very silly – but it still makes me laugh:

There were three men in a plane and they ran (flew?) into some trouble.  They each had to throw something out of the plane so they could stay in the air.

The first man threw an apple out.

The second man threw an orange out.

And the third man threw a bomb out.

They landed soon after and started walking.

They saw a little boy crying and asked him what the matter was.  The boy replied, ‘An apple fell on my head!’  They continued walking.

They saw a little girl crying and asked her what the matter was.  The girl replied, ‘An orange fell on my head!’  They continued walking.

They came across a (different) little boy and he was laughing hysterically.  They stopped and asked him what was so funny.

He replied, ‘I just farted and my house blew up!’

KENNEL… Do you have any pets?

Yep.  I have a dog, a Lhasa Apso, called Rolo.  He is absolutely gorgeous – but also very spoilt (my fault).  He will be 7 next week 🙂  He’s loving and playful.  He loves seeing new people – but he is one of those ‘I’m going to jump on you and lick your face’ type of dogs.  Also, we think he might be gay.  He only humps the legs of men!

LOVE…Are you single, married, engaged, living with a long term partner?

Hub and I have been married for nearly 6 years.  We met when I was 16 (he was 17), but I didn’t really know him too well until we were at university (different universities, but both in London and many common friends).  We started going out when I was 19 and we were together for 3 years.  We got back together 4 years later!

MEAL… Whats your ultimate starter, main and dessert

Oh no!  This is really difficult because I love food!  Chicken and sweetcorn soup to start.  With garlic and rock salt asparagus.  Mains – Korean barbeque pork with sesame oil and salt sauce mixed with rice *wipes away drool* and dessert…  Tiramisu :p

NOW…If you could be anywhere right now where would you be and who with?

In the sun, by a pool or at the beach with friends laughing and having a great time 🙂

OFF DUTY…What do you do in your spare time?

I usually say that I read.  But I haven’t read anything for months 😦  I blog, I read blogs and I tweet.  Usually while watching crap reality shows 🙂

PROUD MOMENTS …What are you most proud of?

Having Vinay, of course.  He is my pride and joy!

QUEASY …What turns your stomach?

All the gory scenes in shows like CSI and Criminal Minds!  I LOVE shows like that, but usually have to look away at the beginning!  I can’t watch movies with lots of blood and guts and I absolutely refuse to watch horror films.  Including movies like Scream (which people say is like a comedy).  I just have a tension headache by the end of them.

Oh.  And the smell of vomit.  *Shudder*

RELAX…How do you relax?

I relax by watching tv, listening to music, being online and organising my cupboards (don’t ask!).

SONG…Whats your favourite song of all time?

Oh my!  There are SO many to choose from.  I listen to all types of music and love so many songs!  But I think my all time favourite is Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together.

TIME…If you could go back in time and relive it again, when would you choose?

I would go back to the week of our wedding in Bali and our honeymoon afterwards.  I have many happy memories of time spent with family and friends in an idyllic location.

UNKNOWN…Tell us something about yourself that no one else knows?

If I told you, then *everyone* would know!

VOCAL…. Who is your favourite artist?

Al Green, for sure.  The ‘True Love’ album is just amazing.  His voice sends shivers down my spine.  They just don’t make music like that anymore (OMG – I sound really old!)

WORK….. What is your dream job, and are you doing it now?

Apparently, when I was about 4 and my mum asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said I wanted to either be a puppy or a princess.  I am neither of those things 😦

From the time I was 16 I knew I wanted to be a teacher.  And that’s exactly what I did, although I am taking a break now.  Funnily enough, for something I was so passionate about – I don’t know if I want to go back to it.  Maybe it’s time to try something new?

XRAY…Any broken bones?

Does ‘a near hairline fracture’ count?  Do you remember back in the day when they had those phone-card public pay phones?  We had loads of them around the school, including one in our boarding house.  One day after school someone came to get me from the common room and told me that my sister was on the phone.  I raced to the phone room to speak to her.  Mid-conversation the WHOLE damn phone fell off the wall and onto my foot!  It hurt like hell.  My first instinct, however, was to pick up the receiver and check if she was still on the other end.  I couldn’t hear anything and then I started screaming for help.  The rumour going around is that I was actually speaking to my dog.  Again, don’t ask.

YIKES…What’s been your most embarrassing moment?

Lol!  From the age of about 18 to 20 we used to go to Cafe de Paris in Leicester Square almost every Saturday night.  My two cousins, my sister and I would drink a countless number of shots.  They were called Bazooka Joes.  They were blue and absolutely disgusting.  We would dance if we weren’t drinking and, more often than not, would end up dancing on the speakers!  Needless to say, we were quite off our faces most Saturday nights.  Those were the days when I was quite slim and wore mini-skirts.  I loved going out on Saturday afternoons to buy a new top to wear for that evening!

So, this one Saturday we were at Cafe having a great time.  3am rolled around and they closed the bar and blocked it off with a row of bar stools.  All the seats were covered in leather.  I’d had a bit to drink, but wasn’t *that* drunk – just v
ery merry and I had to go and sit down for a few minutes.  I climbed up onto the bar stool and sat down.  I realised, too late, that this bar stool didn’t have it’s leather cover on the seat.  It was just metal and it wasn’t flat – it was rounded.  As I sat down, I slid off the back and fell onto the floor, legs up in the air and skirt up at my waist!  Only TWO people saw it happen and we still roar with laughter when we talk about it.  It was funny, but oh so embarrassing!

ZOO…. If you were an animal, which one would you be?

If I could be any animal…  I would like to be a pig.  But not just any pig!  I would like to be George Clooney’s pet pot-bellied pig 🙂  I have the pot belly already!
